Is PlayMate free?
Yes — PlayMate is free to download and use. No subscription, no credit card.
How do I find games near me?
Open the Radar to see nearby games and players on a live map, or turn on Quick Game to be matched automatically.
Do I have to share my location?
No. Location makes the app better (finding nearby games), but you can set your spot manually and choose Exact, Approximate, or Hidden sharing — see Location sharing.
Can other people see my location in real time?
Only if you choose to share it. When you do, nearby players see your pin on the Radar update in real time (and you see theirs). Switch to Hidden any time to disappear from the map. Details in Discover & Play.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete Account (two taps), available for every sign-in method including Sign in with Apple. Full steps in Account, Privacy & Deletion.
How do I report or block someone?
Use the “⋯ More” menu on any profile, post, or message to Report, or open a profile to Block. See Safety & Moderation.
Which sports are supported?
15+ and growing — basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, and more. Set yours under Profile → Sports.
How do I sign in?
Email & password, or one tap with Apple, Google, or X. See Getting Started.
I signed up with Apple — is my account limited in any way?
No. However you sign in (Apple, Google, X, or email) you get the exact same full account, with every feature — including the ability to delete your account and all data from Settings. Sign in with Apple limits nothing.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
On the login screen tap Forgot Password?, enter your email, and follow the reset link we send you. (If you signed in with Apple/Google/X, just use that button instead.)
How do I create a game?
Tap Create → Game, then set the sport, title, date, time, location, player limit, and skill level. Full walkthrough in Games.
What is Quick Game / Free Roam?
Turn on Free Roam and PlayMate matches you into a nearby lobby of players who want to play the same sport right now. See Quick Game & Lobbies.
How do RSVPs and the gear checklist work?
Open a game and set Going, Maybe, or Not Going so the organizer has a headcount. The Gear tab lets players claim what to bring (ball, net, bibs). See Games.
How do I create or join a group?
Tap Create → Group to start one, or browse the Groups tab / Radar and tap Join on any public group. Details in Groups.
How do I message another player?
Open their profile and tap message, or use the Messages screen and start a New chat. Messages are real-time — see Messages.
How do ratings and the reliability score work?
After a shared game, players can leave each other a star rating and short review. Your profile shows your average rating and a reliability score based on attendance. See Profile & Reviews.
How do I add a venue (place)?
Tap Create → Place, name it, pick a type, drop its location, and choose the sports it supports. It then appears on everyone's Radar — see Places.
How do I edit my profile, photo, sports, or availability?
Open Profile and tap edit for your photo and bio, Sports for sports and skill levels, and Availability for your weekly slots. See Profile.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Go to Settings → Notifications — there's a master push toggle plus per-type switches for messages, game updates, group activity, followers, reminders, and marketing.
Can I change the distance units, language, or use dark mode?
Yes — Settings → Language & Region sets language, time/date format, and miles vs kilometers, and a dark-mode toggle lives in Settings too.
How do I change my password or manage connected sign-ins?
Settings → Account lets you change your password and see which providers (Apple, Google, X) are connected.
What happens when I block someone?
Blocking is instant: they can no longer see your profile or content or message you, their posts leave your feed, and our team is notified. Manage your list in Settings → Privacy → Blocked users.
Is my data safe, and how is it used?
Your location precision is yours to control, and you can delete everything at any time. See our Privacy Policy and Privacy controls.
