Discover & Play (Map)
The Radar tab is a live map of what's happening around you — players, open games, groups, and venues, updating in real time. Here's how to read it, tune it to your area, and control how your own location appears to others.
See players & games in real time#
Open the Radar tab to see a live map centered on you. Other players who are nearby and sharing their location appear as pins, alongside open games, active groups, and sports venues. As people move, go online, or start games, the map updates in real time — so you can spot a pickup game forming a block away and join it.
Yes — you can see other users' locations on the map in real time. When two players are nearby and both sharing location, each sees the other's pin update live. This is what powers Quick Game matchmaking and "players near you."

For App Store reviewers
To see live location with another person, two accounts are needed (the feature is inherently multi-user). Sign in on two devices, allow location on both, and you'll see each device appear on the other's Radar and update as they move. A full two-device screen recording of this flow is embedded above.Every pin on the Radar means something specific:
- Players — other users near you; a green dot means they're online now. Tap to view their profile, follow, or message.
- Games — open pickup games with a sport icon and player count. Tap to see details and join.
- Groups — active communities meeting nearby.
- Places — sports venues (courts, fields, gyms, pools…) shown with a type icon. See Places.

Use the radius slider to widen or narrow what the Radar shows — anywhere from 1 km for a dense city block up to 100 km for rural areas. A smaller radius keeps things walkable; a larger one surfaces more games when your area is quiet. Venues are always shown within a wide range since they're permanent.

You're always in control of how precisely you appear to others. In Settings → Privacy & Security (also under Account & Privacy) you can choose:
- Exact — your precise location is shown to nearby players.
- Approximate (fuzzy) — your pin is shown within a general area (~500m), not your exact spot.
- Hidden — you don't appear on anyone's map; you can still browse and join games.
Your choice is remembered and applies everywhere your location would otherwise be shown.

Default is privacy-friendly
New accounts default to approximate location, and you can switch to Hidden at any time — your location preference is saved to your account and respected across devices.
